Since 2022, state inspectors have cited Regency Palms Oxnard 36 times (14 serious, 22 minor) and confirmed 20 complaints across 54 visits. In November 2023, a resident walked out of the home through an exit door during a power outage; a neighbor called police, and the resident was taken to the hospital. Inspectors cited the home for not filing the required incident report afterward. A 2023 inspection confirmed that one resident's room had become so cluttered there was no clear path to walk through it or reach the bathroom. In December 2024, inspectors reviewed medications for 10 residents and found that pill counts for several didn't match what the prescription records showed should still be on hand. Inspectors looked into many other complaints over the years, including allegations about how staff treated residents, a resident being pushed by another resident, bathing and hygiene routines, and infection control practices, and most were not substantiated.
