Since 2021, state inspectors have cited The Cedars Assisted Living 74 times (27 serious, 47 minor) and confirmed 57 complaints across 170 visits. Among the confirmed findings, in late 2025 inspectors found multiple occupied resident rooms in disrepair: loose baseboards pulling away from walls, leaking toilets, water damage to walls and ceilings, an exposed light fixture in one resident's bathroom, bathtubs without slip-resistant mats, and floors with gaps and raised sections that could cause a fall. In 2021, inspectors confirmed that when a resident returned from a psychiatric hospitalization, the home turned them away without reviewing the discharge paperwork or reassessing whether the home could still meet that person's needs. Inspectors looked into many other complaints over the years, including allegations of sexual abuse by staff and rough handling of residents, and those were not substantiated by the evidence.
